Job Summary
This is a full-time, fixed-term position until April 30, 2027, serving as the Head of the Technical Department for Kiel's public swimming and sports facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the technical division, ensuring smooth operations across all managed properties, and overseeing technical staff. Key responsibilities include managing comprehensive construction projects, such as new builds, extensions, renovations, and partial modernizations of systems and facilities. The role requires acting as the client representative, conducting construction acceptance, managing tender processes, budget control, and coordinating external service providers like engineering firms. Candidates must possess a degree in Engineering (Building Services or Supply Technology) and substantial professional experience, particularly in managing public sector construction projects, combined with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (Diploma or Master) in Engineering, specializing in Building Services or Supply Technology, or comparable qualifications in Sanitation, Heating, Ventilation, Pool, and Climate Technology.
Experience
- Minimum three years of relevant professional experience based on prior education and training in a relevant field
- Experience in supporting/supervising construction projects for a public client
- Professional experience in technical department leadership and staff supervision
- Experience in managing maintenance, inspection, and testing services
