Job Summary

This is a high-impact, leadership role as Head of the 'Digitalization, Official Metrology' Department within the State Office for Measurement and Calibration Berlin-Brandenburg (LME BE-BB). The successful candidate will provide both personnel and scientific leadership for a three-group department, driving the planning, coordination, and control of digitalization initiatives within metrology. Key responsibilities include scientific consultation for economic actors and authorities on technical and legal metrology issues, developing testing procedures, and contributing to the LME's strategic conception and regulatory statements. The role requires extensive leadership experience, deep knowledge of strategic development (especially in digitalization and personnel), and a relevant scientific or legal university degree. Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Diploma/Master/Magister) in Metrology, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Administrative Science, Economics (with focus on Personnel or Organization), Law, or 2nd State Examination in Law; OR qualification for the higher technical metrology service, higher general administrative service, higher economic administrative service, or higher technical administrative service (Computer Science, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering)

Experience

  • Several years of proven leadership experience managing larger organizational units
  • Several years of experience in strategy development (Digitalization, Personnel Development, Budget)
  • Several years of experience in personnel management with multi-level leadership structures
  • Experience in project development, change management, and organizational development
  • Advantageous: Several years of experience and extensive knowledge in metrology, scientific work, and developing measurement procedures
