Job Summary

This role involves joining a dedicated team in Hannover, contributing significantly to the future of genetic diagnostics within the amedes group. The Scientific Associate will be primarily responsible for patient-oriented reporting in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly influencing individual therapy planning. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Liquid Biopsy data, optimizing NGS analysis pipelines, and developing new analytical methods to expand the somatic diagnostics portfolio. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Biology or a related natural science, possesses experience in molecular diagnostics (especially NGS), and is proficient in handling sensitive patient data and specialized laboratory IT systems (GePaDo, MOLIS, Varvis, QCI). This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology within a certified quality management system (ISO 9001/15189), ensuring the highest standards in diagnostic excellence.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or comparable natural science field; PhD welcome but not mandatory

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, particularly NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in generating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (ideally)
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants (ideally)
