Job Summary
The Lower Saxony Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Göttingen is seeking a dedicated Administrative Officer to manage external funding, institutional budgeting, and procurement processes. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance with grant and budgetary regulations, including the detailed handling of third-party funds (DFG, MWK, BMFTR), budget monitoring, payment instructions, and invoice releases within the financial system. Day-to-day tasks involve preparing grant applications, managing annual financial statements, and executing procurement activities for materials. The ideal candidate must possess a completed commercial or administrative vocational qualification, strong proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel skills with PivotTables, and a high degree of organizational talent and responsibility. This full-time, initially two-year fixed-term position (with the option for permanent extension) offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, experienced team within an academic research environment.

Education
Completed vocational training as an Administrative Specialist or equivalent commercial qualification (e.g., Angestelltenlehrgang II)
Experience
- Professional experience in third-party fund management (desirable, especially DFG, MWK, BMFTR)
- Knowledge of State Budget Ordinance (LHO) and administrative regulations (desirable)
- Knowledge of Public Procurement Law (desirable, especially VOL/A and UVgO)
