Job Summary

This role is for an experienced Technical Research Associate specializing in Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) to drive biophysical interaction analyses crucial for drug discovery. The associate will independently conduct complex SPR analyses, interpret results, and provide scientifically sound documentation and recommendations to interdisciplinary project teams. Key responsibilities include optimizing existing Protein Science and Biophysics workflows, evaluating new SPR instruments and algorithms by monitoring the state-of-the-art, and expanding the SPR platform to analyze challenging molecular interactions (e.g., large complexes, membrane targets). This position requires a strong hands-on mentality, scientific curiosity, expertise in modern SPR systems (like Biacore), and proficiency in digital data analysis and automation to integrate SPR data into screening workflows, offering a meaningful career path in innovative pharmaceutical research.

Required Skills

Education

Completed Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences (Master's degree welcome) or vocational training as a Biology Laboratory Technician with additional qualification (e.g., Technician) or comparable professional experience.

Experience

  • Very extensive practical experience in applying SPR for characterizing small molecules, peptides, oligonucleotides, antibodies, and complex protein-protein interactions
  • Several years of hands-on experience with modern SPR systems and analysis software (e.g., Biacore Evaluation, Biacore Insight)
  • Experience with digital data analysis, automation, and integration of SPR data into screening workflows
