Job Summary
The City of Haltern am See is seeking an Energy Manager to lead the implementation of a new Energy Management System (EMS) as part of municipal efforts toward climate protection, budget consolidation, and energy transition, including municipal heating planning. This three-year fixed-term role, contingent on successful grant approval (earliest start April 2026), involves installing remote-readable metering technology for gas, electricity, and water in municipal buildings. Key responsibilities include conducting building assessments, defining measures to achieve low-energy house standards, establishing organizational structures for the EMS, selecting and implementing appropriate software, and managing grant-related reporting and billing. This position offers the opportunity to drive significant sustainability and efficiency improvements within the public sector.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Bachelor, Dipl. Ing., Master) in Energy Economics and Management, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Energy and Building Technology, or a comparable professional qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in Energy Management or related technical fields
- Experience with building assessments and defining energy efficiency measures
- Experience in implementing technical systems or software (EMS)
