Job Summary
This is a stimulating 4-year, 65% funded PhD position (E13 TV-L) at the renowned Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB), focusing on cutting-edge research in plant immunity. As a PhD Researcher, you will contribute to the ERC-funded "CooPAIRation" project, investigating the molecular mechanisms by which plant immune receptors, specifically Nucleotide-binding, Leucine-rich-Repeat proteins (NLRs), cooperate to trigger disease resistance, with the ultimate goal of developing sustainable strategies for crop protection. Daily responsibilities involve conducting phylogenetic analyses, routine molecular biology and protein biochemistry work, and performing immune response assays in plants and protoplasts. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Biology or a related field, possesses very good English proficiency, and has prior lab experience in molecular biology or biochemistry.
