Job Summary

The Tunnel Control Center Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of highway tunnel systems in the Westphalia branch. Day-to-day responsibilities include continuous monitoring of technical equipment, electrical, and operational systems within the tunnels. The operator is responsible for manually controlling lighting, ventilation, and tunnel barrier systems as needed, and acts as the primary point of contact for emergency services (fire, police, ambulance) during incidents. Furthermore, the role involves handling emergency calls from tunnels, informing users via public address systems and traffic radio, processing maintenance and operational invoices, and generating statistics and documentation. This position requires a qualified technician, ideally in electrical or mechanical engineering, who is prepared for 24/7 shift work and possesses strong IT and data processing skills, coupled with high resilience and decision-making capability.

Education

State-certified Technician in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience

Experience
