Job Summary
This role involves acting as a key expert within an agile team focused on developing new products based on secondary aluminum. The scientist will leverage extensive expertise in materials science to understand the influence of process parameters and process chains on microstructure development, utilizing this knowledge to create profitable new products. Day-to-day activities include pioneering research by designing and executing targeted laboratory experiments, scaling successful findings up to production facilities via plant trials, and applying metallophysical models to predict phase formation, dislocation development, and recrystallization. Key qualifications include a degree (preferably PhD) in Materials Science or Physics, over five years of R&D experience, and deep knowledge of aluminum metallurgy and processing. The position demands strong project management skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative spirit for coaching colleagues and ensuring products are state-of-the-art and economical.
Required Skills
Education
Completed university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Materials Science, Materials and Process Technology, Solid State Physics, or comparable field, preferably with a focus on metallic materials and a PhD (Doctorate)
Experience
- 5+ years in Research & Development or as a scientific employee (Post-Doc)
- Professional experience in the processing and process chain of aluminum rolling products, especially the rolling process
- Professional experience in statistical data analysis
