Job Summary

This role is ideal for a Scientific Associate passionate about advancing genetic diagnostics, focusing specifically on reporting within molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating reports for patient-oriented diagnostics, evaluating Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Liquid-Biopsy analyses, and contributing significantly to individualized therapy planning. The associate will also be crucial in optimizing NGS analysis pipelines and developing new analytical methods to expand the somatic diagnostics portfolio. Key qualifications include a degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field, professional experience in molecular pathology or onco-genetics, and expertise in working with samples like peripheral blood and FFPE. The position requires structured, responsible work under certified quality management systems (ISO 15189) and offers the chance to work with specialized IT systems (GePaDo, MOLIS, Varvis, QCI) in a supportive, innovative environment in Hannover.

Required Skills

Education

Degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field (PhD welcome but not mandatory)

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in generating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (Ideally)
