Job Summary
The City of Weißenfels is seeking a Civil Engineer to manage and execute comprehensive civil engineering projects within the Technical Services and Urban Development department. This role focuses heavily on conceptual road construction, infrastructure, and drainage measures for public roads, paths, and squares. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing concepts, conducting feasibility studies, and determining preliminary costs for planning processes. The engineer acts as the client representative, reviewing designs, leading planning consultations, and overseeing project execution while managing deadlines and costs. Key qualifications include a degree in Civil Engineering or a comparable field, professional experience, and strong knowledge of public procurement law (VOB/HOAI/VgV) and the LSA Road Act. The ideal candidate is autonomous, structured, and possesses strong negotiation skills for dealing with contractors and stakeholders, contributing significantly to the urban development of this historically rich region.

Completed university degree (minimum Bachelor's) in Civil Engineering or a comparable specialized field.
Experience
- Professional experience in the public administration sector (ideal)
- Professional experience in civil engineering and road construction
- Knowledge and experience in traffic control and traffic planning (desirable)
- Experience in processing grant funding applications (advantageous)
