Job Summary

This is a full-time, permanent position within the municipal services of the City of Unna, focusing heavily on wastewater management and flood protection infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, construction, and rehabilitation of wastewater systems, including a 300 km sewer network and 45 special structures. Day-to-day tasks involve creating and evaluating tenders according to VOB, coordinating external engineering services, and acting as the client representative during construction supervision. The role requires strong expertise in sewer rehabilitation concepts, cost monitoring (VOB/HOAI), and project management across all service phases. Ideal candidates hold a degree in Urban Water Management or a related Civil Engineering field, possess excellent communication skills, and are proficient in German (C1 level).

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Dipl.-Ing. or Bachelor) in Urban Water Management or Civil Engineering with a focus on wastewater and urban water management. Qualification as a certified Sewer Rehabilitation Consultant (desirable).

Experience

Professional experience in dealing with specialized companies and engineering offices
In-depth technical knowledge in sewer rehabilitation (highly desirable)
Experience in applying VOB (German Construction Contract Procedures) and HOAI (Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers)

Languages

German (Fluent)

Additional

Driver's license Class B required. Must possess very good written and spoken German skills (minimum C1 level GER). Position is subject to public sector collective agreement (TVöD EG 11) or civil service pay scale (LBesO A NRW A 12).
