Job Summary
This role is based in Bremerhaven within the Power Electronics and Grid Integration group, focusing on the grid integration of wind turbines and hybrid wind parks. The Research Engineer will be integral to various research and industrial projects, involving tasks from commissioning inverter test benches to optimizing and expanding existing test benches using the Power-Hardware-in-the-loop (PHiL) approach. Key responsibilities include working with real-time systems, setting up grid models to study transient events, and developing test methods for validating harmonic and EMT models. The engineer will also design and implement test and validation methods for grid-forming properties within the grid emulator control (PHiL control). Furthermore, the role involves project management, potentially leading R&D projects, and supporting test campaigns both domestically and internationally, requiring close collaboration with national and international partners. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and possesses foundational knowledge in power electronics and control engineering.
Required Skills
Education
Master's degree (Diplom/Master) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering with a focus on the aforementioned areas.
Experience
- Experience with test benches (Prüfständen)
- Initial experience with Software-, Model-, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (SIL, MIL, HIL)
- Experience in documenting and presenting research results
- Professional experience in research and development projects (optional, entry-level possible)
