Job Summary
This role involves specialized programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) using the Siemens TIA Portal (currently V20) for measurement, control, regulation, and automation technology projects, primarily serving municipal and industrial clients in water/wastewater and combustion technology. The PLC Programmer is responsible for translating customer requirements into functional specifications, programming the PLCs for custom-built switchgear, and developing process visualizations using HMI interfaces and tools like WinCC. A significant part of the job involves on-site commissioning of the systems (approximately 20% travel, mostly day trips). You will start with support from experienced colleagues and transition quickly to independent project responsibility, working closely with the engineering, manufacturing, and assembly teams. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical schematics and offers an unlimited, full-time contract with flexible hours and potential for a home office arrangement after the initial training period.
Required Skills
Education
Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or relevant experience as a career changer.
Experience
- Professional experience with Siemens TIA Portal
- Experience in on-site commissioning of industrial plants
- Experience in water/wastewater or combustion technology (Desirable)

Additional
- Approximately 20% travel required for on-site commissioning (mostly day trips, rarely overnight stays). Location is Hannover, with projects predominantly in Northern Germany.
