Job Summary

The CityLAB Berlin is seeking a Data Product Engineer to join their Public Data Team, focusing on improving data sharing and utilization within the public sector. This role involves developing innovative data products, concepts, and digital prototypes based on open-source software, collaborating closely with administrative stakeholders and the wider city community. Day-to-day tasks include creating dashboards, conducting data-driven analyses, and designing, operating, and optimizing ETL processes, data models, and APIs for data provision. Candidates should possess a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong skills in Git, CI/CD tools, Python, SQL, and relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL/PostGIS). Required Skills

Education

University degree or technical college degree in a technical or data-related field (e.g., Data Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics) or equivalent qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in a technical or data-related field (e.g., Data Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent qualification through professional experience and further training
  • Experience in developing data pipelines and ETL processes (ideally with Apache Airflow and Node-RED)
  • Experience in developing interactive dashboards and map applications (ideally with Apache Superset, Grafana and Masterportal)
