Job Summary
This role is a unique opportunity to drive the German Animal Welfare Association's mission to phase out animal testing and promote non-animal testing science, specifically through a joint project with the Swedish partner organization, Project 1882. The Project Officer will be primarily responsible for managing this collaborative effort, supporting the German association while establishing the foundation for expanding this work in Sweden. Day-to-day tasks involve handling public and media inquiries, drafting official statements and position papers, evaluating legal regulations, and monitoring scientific and public debates on animal testing alternatives. The successful candidate will represent the association publicly in expert committees and towards decision-makers, requiring strong communication skills, advocacy, and a commitment to animal welfare. This is a full-time, one-year fixed-term contract based near Munich.
Required Skills
Education
University degree in Biology, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Toxicology, or related fields
Experience
- Extensive experience in the field of non-animal testing science
- Professional experience in a non-profit association (NGO) context is beneficial
- Professional experience relevant to the job profile

- Willingness to actively advocate for animal welfare and the phasing out of animal testing; Willingness to undertake business trips, including abroad; Basic or advanced knowledge of Swedish is advantageous; Fixed-term contract (one year).
