Job Summary

This role seeks a highly motivated scientific project employee to join the 'Veterinary Medicine Research' department at the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, focusing on analyzing the pathogenic potential of zoonotic pathogens and developing defense and therapeutic measures. The core responsibilities involve developing and applying animal models to study pathogenesis and test the efficacy of vaccines and therapeutics against selected pathogens, such as the West Nile Virus. Key requirements include a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Natural Sciences or Veterinary Medicine, a completed PhD in a relevant area, and extensive practical experience working with pathogens under S2 conditions. The position is highly collaborative, requiring regular exchange with partners in the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF). The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct scientific work, write publications, and present results at professional congresses. Required Skills

Experience
