Job Summary

The Bremer Stadtreinigung (DBS), responsible for waste management and urban cleanliness in Bremen, is seeking an Application Manager and Technical Support specialist to join their IT, Digitalization, and Processes department. This role is crucial for driving the ongoing digitalization and development of the core SAP S/4 HANA system and connected subsystems. Day-to-day, you will assess and verify functional requirements from various departments, coordinate implementation with external service providers, and focus heavily on SAP S/4 HANA (Materials Management) and non-SAP procedures. You will also serve as a key technical support contact, assisting users with basic operations and telephony issues (First-Level Support), analyzing system data for quality assurance, and potentially undertaking simple development tasks (e.g., reports). This position is ideal for motivated individuals with initial professional experience or IT-savvy career changers eager to build expertise in application management and support, contributing directly to the company's digital strategy roadmap.

Required Skills

Education

University degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent qualification; OR vocational training with two years of relevant professional experience as an IT Specialist or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience in application management or First-Level Support is beneficial
  • Readiness to take on smaller implementations/customizing tasks
  • Experience working with SAP (preferably Materials Management and third-party system interfaces)
