Job Summary
Join KWS, a leading global plant breeding company, as a Software Developer focusing on scientific Big Data applications. This permanent, full-time role in Einbeck, Lower Saxony, involves the redevelopment of a central application used in plant breeding and molecular biology across international locations. Working within an experienced SCRUM team, you will analyze the business domain with experts, design, and implement a robust software solution using .NET, cloud technologies, and data pipelines. A key focus will be migrating a relational system to a new data lakehouse, collaborating closely with Data Architects and Engineers. The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Computer Science, excellent proficiency in C# (.NET Core) and Python, and practical experience with distributed systems, DataLake technologies (like Databricks/AWS Athena), and modern DevOps practices to ensure reliable operations.

Experience
- Practical experience with distributed systems
- Practical experience with DataLake technologies (Databricks or AWS Athena and Apache Spark)
- Practical experience in professional software development (e.g., dependency injection, mocking, TDD, CI/CD pipelines)
