Job Summary

This challenging role involves ensuring the secure and reliable operation of the backbone and access transport networks (MPLS-TP, DWDM, and SDH systems) crucial for the ongoing automation and expansion of smart grids in Bavaria. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Network Operations Center (NOC) environment, focusing on the rapid detection, analysis, and resolution of network infrastructure faults, while managing internal and external service providers. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new devices into management systems during network expansions, proactive analysis of network and service disruptions, and taking responsibility for implementing new services. This position requires strong technical expertise in wide-area network technologies, a proactive, solution-oriented approach, and participation in a 2nd level on-call rotation, contributing directly to the energy transition.

Required Skills

Education

Completed technical vocational training (e.g., Master Craftsman, Technician, Specialist IT Professional) or a degree in Computer Science, IT, or Communications Engineering

Experience

  • Practical knowledge in operating broadband wide-area network technologies from relevant manufacturers
  • Experience in a Network Operation Center (NOC) environment or comparable setting
  • Professional experience in digital topics and continuous development of operating procedures and systems
  • Professional experience in network fault resolution and documentation
