Job Summary

This role is for an Automation Engineer or Technician specializing in designing and implementing customized test systems, where standard solutions are insufficient. The work is highly development-driven, focusing on unique, bespoke systems for complex customer components. Day-to-day responsibilities include the electrical design and specification of components, selecting appropriate sensor technology and drive systems (like servo-driven pumps), and developing highly dynamic control strategies. A core part of the job involves software integration, primarily using TwinCAT and LabVIEW, to manage sensor/actuator integration, develop control sequences, and create user-friendly interfaces. The position requires strong technical understanding for system testing, commissioning (mostly in-house), and detailed data analysis for troubleshooting. This is an attractive opportunity for professionals who thrive on new challenges in a non-routine, development-heavy environment, working closely with mechanical design, electrical, and project management teams.

Required Skills

Education

Completed training as a Technician or University degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Automation Technology. Graduates in natural sciences (Physics, Mathematics) with relevant practical experience are also considered.

Experience

  • Professional experience in automation and control systems (required for non-engineering/technician graduates)
  • Experience in test stand automation, test systems, or special machine construction (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of TwinCAT (required or willingness to rapidly acquire)
  • Experience in interpreting measured data and deriving concrete actions
