Job Summary
This role involves ensuring the smooth and proper operation of complex IT infrastructure for a federal agency in Hannover. The IT Administrator will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of Windows Servers, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, and centralized storage systems. Key daily tasks include system updates, data backup management, user and rights administration, network monitoring, and managing local area networks (LANs). A significant focus is placed on the central administration of virtualization platforms (VMware, Citrix) and storage systems (SAN/NAS), alongside providing Second-Level support for all deployed IT systems. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Informatics or related field, or be a certified IT Specialist (System Integration). The position requires excellent German proficiency (C2), strong organizational skills, and a high degree of reliability, offering an attractive, unlimited contract within the public service with excellent work-life balance and potential for civil servant status.

Education
Qualification for the higher technical administrative service career path, OR Bachelor's or Diploma degree (FH) or higher in Informatics, Business Informatics, or a technical field, OR Certification as an IT Specialist (System Integration)
Experience
- Professional experience operating Windows Server environments
- Professional experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Citrix)
- Professional experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS) and data security
- Knowledge and experience in IT Administration (Advantageous)
- Experience in Project Management (Advantageous)
