Job Summary
This senior leadership role involves managing and directing the Visualization and Geoinformation Systems Department within the Ministry of Defense. The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical supervision, planning, and control of all departmental activities, including coordinating support teams and software management within the "Dynamic Secured Military Network" (DGMN). Key responsibilities include managing assigned themes, ensuring service and system responsibility for IT services across various domains (CAD, GIS, BIM, Digital Signage), and performing effort estimations for change management. Candidates must possess a relevant technical degree (Informatics/Geoinformatics) or equivalent technical education (HTL), coupled with significant professional experience in IT project management, staff leadership, and deep knowledge of military ICT systems and specialized visualization/GIS software tools. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Wals, Austria, offering a competitive gross monthly salary.
Required Skills
Education
Completed HTL Informatics or comparable education, or completed university degree in Informatics or comparable field (as per BDG 1979 Annex 1, Ziffer 1.12 or 1.12a)
Experience
- Professional experience in staff leadership and negotiation with internal and external representatives
- Professional experience in Geoinformatics or comparable technical field (required for both degree and HTL paths)
- Relevant experience in IT project management
