Job Summary

This role is ideal for an experienced professional focused on ensuring material quality and integrity within the automotive production cycle. The Materials Laboratory Technician will independently execute complex materials testing procedures according to technical specifications and drawings. Daily responsibilities include conducting various hardness tests (Vickers, Rockwell, Brinell), performing detailed metallographic examinations, and utilizing specialized techniques such as spectral analysis, residual dirt analysis, and magnetic-inductive crack testing on forged and manufactured components. A key focus is quality assurance, involving the creation and validation of testing programs, monitoring compliance with QM standards (like IATF 16949), and assisting in damage analysis for returned parts. Candidates must possess a relevant technical background, strong knowledge of testing procedures, and familiarity with technical drawings and quality management systems to support stable serial production processes for renowned clients.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training in Materials Testing, Metallography, Material Testing, Physics Laboratory Assistant, Chemical Laboratory Assistant, or Industrial Mechanic/Mechatronics Technician with relevant further training. Ideally, further training as a Technician (Materials Technology, Metal Technology, Physics) or comparable qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in materials testing and laboratory procedures.
  • Experience in creating and applying measurement and testing programs for various testing methods.
  • Experience in conducting hardness testing and making release decisions for manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with quality management standards and ensuring stable serial processes.
