Job Summary

This role is an exciting opportunity for a Materials Testing Engineer to join the aviation industry, focusing on the analysis and validation of metallic aerospace materials. Day-to-day responsibilities involve analyzing and evaluating materials in all states, from forged and cast parts to finished products. A core function is the validation and approval of material conditions following mechanical processing or specialized treatments like welding, heat treatment, surface treatment, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The engineer will also be crucial in implementing and monitoring quality processes related to materials and special processes, supporting internal manufacturing and suppliers, and advising various departments (production, development, purchasing) on NDT, materials, and special processes. The ideal candidate holds a Master's or Diploma in Materials Engineering and possesses fluent German and English skills, along with experience in special processes and materials processing.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master's or Diploma preferred) in Materials Engineering or a related field with a focus on Materials Technology

Experience

  • Professional experience in materials processing, including the influence of mechanical processing and special processes on surface structure
  • Knowledge and experience in special processes such as welding, heat treatment, and surface treatments
  • Experience with Level III or Level II certification (EN4179/NAS410) in Non-Destructive Testing (Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection and X-ray Testing) is desirable
