Job Summary

This critical role within the Brandenburg State Chancellery, the central government office for the Minister-President, requires a dedicated professional to manage high-level international and European policy coordination. Daily tasks involve proactive monitoring of EU-related issues affecting the state, drafting expert statements, and cultivating essential contacts and networks with national and international partners. A significant portion of the work focuses on protocol management, including the professional organization and accompaniment of the Minister-President and other senior officials on politically relevant domestic and foreign trips, and planning major events and receptions for high-ranking guests. Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master's equivalent) in International Relations or Political Science, coupled with several years of administrative experience, ideally within public service or EU institutions. The position demands fluent German and English, strong networking skills, and a high degree of flexibility to accommodate travel and irregular working hours. Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Social Sciences, or Communication Sciences with a focus on 'International Relations' or 'European Studies'. Alternatively, eligibility for the higher general administrative service career path.

Experience

  • Several years of administrative experience in public service, preferably in a supreme state or federal authority or EU institution.
  • Experience in the areas of event management, protocol, public relations, EU affairs, or international coordination.
  • Experience on the international and diplomatic stage, including knowledge of diplomatic and protocol ranks and customs.
  • Experience demonstrating intercultural competence, proven through work in a protocol area or through stays abroad.

Additional

  • Willingness to undertake domestic and international business travel. Willingness to work occasionally during unfavorable times (evenings, weekends, and holidays). Good knowledge of at least one additional foreign language (minimum B1 level), preferably French. High degree of reliability and confidentiality required. Class B driving license is desirable.
