Job Summary

This role seeks a dedicated Senior U.S. Tax Specialist to join a global company in Berlin, focusing primarily on optimizing and managing the tax processes for the largest market, the U.S. This part-time position (20 hours/week) involves reporting directly to the Principal Tax Specialist and is critical for ensuring compliance and efficiency in U.S. tax matters (Federal, State & Local). The specialist will collaborate with external advisors to prepare various U.S. tax returns (state, rent, 1099 forms), handle state/city registrations, and coordinate tax audits. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, 3+ years of focused experience in U.S. corporate tax or consulting, and a deep understanding of U.S. tax law. This role offers the opportunity to 'own' the U.S. taxation process end-to-end, design robust internal processes, and provide expert tax advice to finance leads, making it a pivotal role in the company's global strategy.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or equivalent; U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar qualification (preferred)

Experience

  • 3+ years in a corporate tax role or tax consulting focused on U.S. taxes
  • Hands-on experience in handling tax registrations, filings, and disputes
  • Experience with international tax (preferred)
  • Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment (preferred)
