Job Summary

The Plastics Technology Engineer will play a critical role in the procedural development of recycling plants, focusing on future-oriented solutions for sustainable beverage and food production. Day-to-day responsibilities involve independent problem-solving, including testing methodologies, interpreting results, and formulating actionable recommendations. A core focus is the development and optimization of processes for post-treatment and granulation of recycled plastics, particularly in areas like Extrusion, Solid State Polymerization (SSP), and Deodorization. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Chemical Process Engineering or Polymer Sciences and possesses comprehensive experience in plastics extrusion and compounding, coupled with strong analytical skills. This position is attractive as it offers the opportunity to independently lead R&D and customer projects within a global market leader specializing in highly specialized plant construction for the food and beverage industry, requiring good English skills and a willingness to travel.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Chemical Process Engineering or Polymer Sciences. Doctorate (PhD) desirable.

Experience

  • Relevant practical experience, preferably in an industrial environment or plant construction
  • Comprehensive experience in the extrusion and compounding of plastics
  • Good experience in analytical methods for polymer characterization
  • Experience in leading research and development projects
