Job Summary
This role as an IT Specialist for System Administration within the VI. Bereitschaftspolizeiabteilung (Riot Police Division) in Dachau offers a secure position in the public sector starting April 2026. The specialist will be crucial in maintaining the division's IT infrastructure, handling daily tasks such as installing and commissioning hardware, administering Windows and Linux servers, and managing Cisco network components. A key responsibility involves ensuring seamless user support through 1st and 2nd level troubleshooting, monitoring systems using tools like Nagios, and managing extensive hardware/software assets. The ideal candidate must possess a relevant technical vocational qualification (e.g., IT Specialist System Integration), strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VoIP), and preferably experience in Microsoft system administration (MCSE/MCSA knowledge is a plus). The position requires flexibility for travel nationwide for deployment support and offers attractive public service benefits, including supplementary pension and 30 days of vacation.
Required Skills
Education
Completed technical vocational training, such as IT Specialist System Integration, IT System Electronics Technician, or comparable qualification.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT system administration
- Comprehensive knowledge of network technology (TCP/IP, VoIP, active network components)
- Experience providing 1st and 2nd level user support
- Experience administering Windows and Linux servers
- Experience in managing user accounts, access rights, and directory services
