Job Summary

This role is a compelling opportunity for a Civil Engineer, including recent graduates, to contribute directly to coastal protection and climate change adaptation in the Aurich region of Lower Saxony. The professional will be responsible for the planning, project management, and local construction supervision of critical water infrastructure, including dikes, sluices, pumping stations, and flood protection polders. Key day-to-day tasks involve managing projects from initial concept through design, tendering, construction, and final acceptance, ensuring compliance with relevant construction and administrative law (HOAI, VOB). The position offers flexible working hours (25-38.5 hours/week), the potential for permanent employment after an initial two-year fixed term, and the chance to work within a supportive, multidisciplinary team dedicated to environmental safety and biodiversity preservation in the region.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's or University of Applied Sciences degree (Dipl.-Ing. FH or equivalent Bachelor) in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Coastal Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or Structural Engineering.

Experience

  • Knowledge in planning, tendering, and construction supervision of hydraulic engineering measures is desirable
  • Knowledge in planning earthworks and civil engineering measures is desirable
  • Professional experience in applying construction law (HOAI, VOB/A and B) is desirable
  • Suitable for career starters
