Job Summary

The Technical University of Braunschweig is seeking an IT Administration Specialist for the Leichtweiß Institute for Hydraulic Engineering. This role is crucial for analyzing, conceptualizing, and implementing a unified IT infrastructure across the institute's four departments, covering research and teaching systems. Day-to-day tasks involve inventory and analysis of existing IT structures, including workstations, PC pools, servers for numerical simulations, file servers, web servers, and data acquisition systems. The specialist will design and implement a secure, institute-wide IT infrastructure, managing data and ensuring IT security in coordination with the central IT center. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or a relevant vocational qualification combined with professional IT administration experience. Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and IT security is essential, alongside excellent German and English language skills.
