Job Summary

This role involves working as a Research Associate within the Knowledge Technologies for the Social Sciences (KTS) department at GESIS, focusing specifically on the EU-funded GRAPHIA project. The core mission is to enhance analytical potential in Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research by developing a comprehensive Knowledge Graph. Day-to-day tasks include implementing approaches for transferring metadata to RDF, integrating data into the GRAPHIA Knowledge Graph, adapting and evaluating information extraction pipelines to identify entities in scholarly resources, and collaborating closely with international project partners. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, possesses expertise in Python software development, semantic web technologies, and machine learning frameworks, and has strong research interests in Knowledge Graphs and Information Extraction. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to state-of-the-art research at the intersection of NLP, semantic technologies, and AI, leading to publications and innovative data infrastructures.

Scientific University Degree (Master) in Computer Science or related fields

Experience

  • Applied research experience in Knowledge Graphs, Information Extraction, Machine Learning, or AI within the context of scientific data
