Job Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to join Roche Diagnostics in Penzberg, focusing on the structural analysis of biopolymers using advanced mass spectrometry techniques. The successful candidate will be a key member of an interdisciplinary team, responsible for developing and optimizing analytical procedures, primarily using (U)HPLC-MS(/MS) and HPLC methods, to analyze proteins in complex matrices like human samples. Day-to-day tasks include leading small technical projects, coordinating work packages across stakeholders, maintaining sophisticated LC-MS/MS instrumentation, and ensuring the validation and transfer of developed test methods to quality control labs. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with extensive hands-on experience in instrumental analytics, fluency in both German and English, and a strong background in computer-aided data analysis, contributing to the development of innovative diagnostic tests.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with a strong background in instrumental analytics, successfully completed Doctoral degree (PhD) in the relevant field.

Experience

  • Several years of practical experience in instrumental analytical procedures (gained during Master's and Doctoral studies)
  • Specialized experience in (U)HPLC-MS (Mass Spectrometry)
  • Experience in transferring manual sample preparation workflows to automated solutions (Advantageous)
  • Experience leading small, rapidly developing teams and coordinating work packages
