Job Summary

This leadership role involves managing the Tumor Documentation Department at the State Cancer Registry NRW (LKR NRW), contributing significantly to cancer research by ensuring comprehensive data registration. The Head of Department is responsible for the technical and disciplinary leadership of a large team, guaranteeing that all tumor documentation is complete, timely, and adheres strictly to legal requirements and national standards, including oBDS, ICD-10-GM, and TNM classifications. Key duties include optimizing documentation processes, resolving complex coding issues, and leading quality assurance and plausibility checks. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant scientific field such as Public Health, Medicine, or Medical Informatics, coupled with substantial experience in leading large teams. Knowledge of oncological classification standards is mandatory, and prior professional experience in tumor documentation is highly beneficial. This position, initially offered on a two-year fixed-term contract, requires strong communication skills and a structured, responsible approach to management.
