Job Summary

This role, in collaboration with Rheinmetall, a leader in defense and security technology, focuses on non-destructive material testing (NDT), specifically X-ray examination, at the Unterlüß site. The Materials Tester will be responsible for coordinating, executing, and evaluating X-ray inspections, including handling explosives and hazardous components safely. Key duties involve planning and setting up testing configurations, managing the organizational aspects of radiographic testing, and performing data analysis and evaluation of images. The role also requires conducting preventive maintenance on X-ray equipment to ensure system availability and generating detailed radiographic test reports. Candidates must have relevant technical training and experience with X-ray control software, digital image processing programs, and knowledge of NDT standards and radiation protection.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Materials Tester, or alternatively, as an Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, Industrial Mechanic, or similar qualification.

Experience

  • Experience operating software for controlling X-ray systems
  • Knowledge in the application of testing and measurement methods
  • Knowledge of standards for non-destructive radiographic testing and radiation protection
