Job Summary

This role involves managing and implementing conservation projects within the European Natura 2000 protected area network, specifically for the "Mittlere Saale" station. The Project Manager will be responsible for analyzing FFH management plans, conducting deficit analyses, and developing necessary conservation measures to maintain and restore favorable conservation status for species and habitats. Key daily tasks include securing funding through programs like NALAP and ENL, managing project finances and approvals, and performing success monitoring. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Biology, Ecology, or a related field, possesses deep knowledge of Natura 2000, conservation law, and habitat protection, and is proficient in GIS and Office software. This is a part-time (20 hours/week), fixed-term contract until the end of 2030, offering flexible hours, a motivated team environment, and the opportunity to make a tangible contribution to biodiversity conservation in the Jena/Saale-Holzland region.

Required Skills

Education

Completed university degree (Master, Diploma, Bachelor) in Biology, (Landscape) Ecology, Nature Conservation, Landscape Planning, Landscape Management, Forestry, or related fields
