Job Summary
This role involves specialized administrative and technical work focused on the management and enforcement of Natura 2000 regulations within the Stendal district, Saxony-Anhalt. The Administrative Officer will be responsible for the detailed recording and assessment of Natura 2000 habitats and species, developing and implementing management measures, and ensuring compliance with the Flora-Fauna-Habitat (FFH) and Bird Protection Directives. Key tasks include processing exemptions, permits, and approvals related to Natura 2000, drafting expert opinions for conservation and compatibility assessments, and overseeing monitoring and compensation measures, particularly those linked to the A14 highway construction. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Natural Sciences or a related field and possesses strong administrative, communication, and problem-solving skills to navigate complex environmental regulations in a public sector context.
Required Skills
Education
Completed undergraduate degree (B.Sc. or equivalent) in Natural Sciences (e.g., Biology, Conservation, Ecology, Landscape Planning/Development), Agrarian Sciences (e.g., Agrarian Biology, Climate Protection), or a comparable qualification (e.g., Certified Nature and Landscape Steward)
Experience
- Professional experience in the management and enforcement of Natura 2000 regulations (desirable)
- Knowledge of public administrative law (desirable)
