Job Summary

The Munich Police Headquarters is seeking an IT Specialist to join their Information and Communication (IuK) team, focusing on video and network technology. This role involves the full lifecycle management of video systems, including installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of camera, transmission, recording, and analysis systems. Day-to-day tasks include conceptualizing IP-based network structures, software administration, and providing technical support and planning for police operations. The ideal candidate has a background as an IT System Electronics Technician or similar electrical engineering qualification, possesses basic knowledge of network technology, and demonstrates strong organizational skills and reliability. This is a crucial position supporting public safety, requiring readiness to work outside regular hours during major events like the IAA MOBILITY or the Munich Security Conference. The position is initially temporary with the goal of permanent civil servant status (Beamtenverhältnis).

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an IT System Electronics Technician, Information Electronics Technician, or comparable relevant electrotechnical vocational training

Experience

  • Professional experience in IT or electrical engineering after completion of vocational training (for civil servant status)
  • Experience with electrical circuits (basic understanding required)
  • Desirable knowledge in Video, Media, and Network technology
  • Desirable basic knowledge of IT Baseline Protection (IT-Grundschutz)
