Job Summary

This key role in medical technology, based in Mannheim, involves actively shaping future production processes by developing cutting-edge AI/ML solutions. The Data Engineer will focus on designing and implementing state-of-the-art AI/ML models, such as Computer Vision and Predictive Maintenance, to optimize complex manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include performing statistical and Big Data time series analyses on large datasets from pilot plants, independently planning and executing experiments (DoE), and leading technical sub-projects, managing resources, and coordinating external partners. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in a relevant technical field, possesses professional experience in process/product development, ideally within a regulated medical technology environment, and is proficient in Python, C++, and ML libraries like TensorFlow or Keras. This position offers an innovative, meaningful work environment focused on developing pioneering data solutions for the healthcare industry.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent (Diplom) in Process Engineering, Data Science, Physics, Computer Science, or a comparable technical field

Experience

  • Professional experience in process/product development
  • Experience in a regulated environment (ideally medical technology)
  • Experience with ML libraries (TensorFlow or Keras)
  • Deep knowledge in automated data acquisition and time series analysis
  • Experience implementing MLOps in an industrial context
