Job Summary
This is a key leadership role managing the laboratory operations for the Greifswald Wastewater Treatment Plant, starting July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining comprehensive testing programs for mandatory and operational analyses, evaluating results to propose process optimization strategies for the plant's operational regime, and conducting essential wastewater and sludge analyses according to self-monitoring regulations. A crucial part of the role involves leading the organization of the Indirect Discharger Register, including sampling, analysis, evaluation, and consulting with dischargers, while ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies. The position requires expertise in instrumental analytics, quality assurance, and managing laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance, demanding a high degree of quality consciousness and structured work ethic.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technician certification, or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in instrumental analytics (environmental analytics)
- Experience in establishing and managing a wastewater laboratory (desired)
- Familiarity with wastewater disposal processes (desired)
