Job Summary
The City of Stralsund's Public Order Office is seeking an IT Application Administrator to manage and advance critical applications within the public administration sector. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation, configuration, optimization, and maintenance of assigned applications, including comprehensive release management and technical documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing user support, acting as a liaison between IT and specialist departments, and contributing to project teams. A significant component of this role is project management, encompassing process analysis, creating project plans, coordinating with external vendors, and developing concepts for process implementation into IT systems. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science or Business Informatics, or equivalent experience, and possesses strong knowledge of current IT technologies, client/server systems, directory services, and relational database administration (MS SQL or PostgreSQL). Excellent German language skills and a proactive, structured work ethic are essential for success in this demanding public service role.
Required Skills
Education
University degree (FH Diploma or Bachelor) in Computer Science or Business Informatics, or qualified IT Specialist (Fachinformatiker) with relevant professional experience, or equivalent skills and experience.
Experience
- Professional experience in IT project execution
- Relevant professional experience in the listed task areas (if lacking a degree)
- Practical experience with the use and administration of relational database systems

- Requirement to obtain a police clearance certificate (Führungszeugnis) after successful selection process. Willingness to continuously pursue further education and self-train in new technologies.
