Job Summary
This doctoral researcher position at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, within the Jena Center for Soft Matter (JCSM) and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Macromolecular Chemistry (IOMC), focuses on polymer synthesis for nanomedicine applications, specifically for liver disease treatment. The successful candidate will design and synthesize novel polymers, primarily based on (meth)acrylates and biobased monomers like itaconic acid, optimizing them for stability, efficiency, and biocompatibility in gene transfer. This role involves leading a PhD project, including experimental design, data analysis, and documentation, culminating in a doctoral thesis. Required Skills
Education
Master’s degree or equivalent in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, chemical engineering, biochemistry, pharmacy or a related field.
Experience
- Professional experience in polymer / organic synthesis and characterization
- Familiarity with analytical methods and statistical data analysis is advantageous
