Job Summary

The Federal Cartel Office, an independent competition authority focusing increasingly on the digitalization of the economy, is seeking an IT Specialist or Business Mathematician to join its IT Procedures department in Bonn. This role is pivotal in shaping the digitalization strategy of both administrative and core processes within the authority. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing departmental IT requirements, leading IT procedure projects—encompassing project management, budget planning, implementation oversight, and managing external service providers. The specialist will also advise on technical aspects of ongoing projects and represent the agency in external technical workshops. Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in IT, Business IT, or a related field, coupled with strong knowledge of modern IT project management methodologies, software architectures, database management, and proficiency in at least one high-level programming language. Fluency in both German and English is expected, along with a high degree of analytical thinking and teamwork.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree or equivalent (university diploma) in (Business) Informatics, (Business) Mathematics, or a comparable IT-related field, or eligibility for the higher technical administrative service of the Federal Government.

Experience
