Job Summary
This leadership role involves managing the Power Grids and Systems department within the Hockenheim Municipal Utility (Stadtwerke). The Head of Department will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the city's power grid, including medium and low voltage networks, substations, transformer stations, and the technical operation of the metering department. Key responsibilities include leading and coordinating master areas for power grids, street lighting, and metering services. Candidates must possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Energy Engineering, coupled with several years of professional experience in energy utility network operations. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills or a strong willingness to lead a motivated team effectively, ensuring compliance with all relevant German energy laws and VDE regulations. This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive compensation based on the TVöD collective agreement.
Required Skills
Education
Master's Degree (Dipl. Ing.) in Electrical Engineering, Energy Technology, or Utility Engineering; OR Technician certification in Electrical Engineering; OR comparable qualification.
Experience
- Several years of professional experience in network operation for an energy supplier
- Leadership experience or willingness to lead a motivated team
