Job Summary

This role involves the experimental, functional, and technical conception, setup, and 3rd-level administration (DevOps) of a new Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure at the Berlin University of the Arts. The Administrator will be crucial in developing and implementing contemporary, future-proof teaching, learning, and collaboration formats using Generative AI. Key responsibilities include designing and executing a sustainable, modularly expandable digital university system for Generative AI (the foundation of the GenKI-Lab), and interactively shaping the integrative application by adapting new open-source tools. The position requires an agile, experimental approach to software customization in a project-oriented artistic teaching environment. Candidates must have a university degree in an IT field (e.g., Media Informatics or Computer Science) and possess strong skills in web-based software development, UI/UX design, and experience with containerization tools like Docker/Portainer and Proxmox. This is a half-time, permanent position offering an engaging environment within a leading European art university.

Required Skills

Education

University degree in an IT-technical field (Bachelor/FH-Diploma), such as New Media/Digital Media, Interface Design, Media Informatics, or Computer Science, or equivalent skills and experience

Experience

  • Professional experience in software development using web-based technologies within a design context
  • Experience in conceiving and implementing backends for digital learning formats in the context of Generative AI
  • Experience in developing stable systems for Generative AI with an agile approach to changing requirements
  • Experience with modular platform development
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization tools, specifically Docker/Portainer and Proxmox, as well as cluster solutions
  • Knowledge of IT technical administration of software in the area of Video-on-Demand/Livestream and Collaborative Writing/EtherPad
