Job Summary
This role is for a Digital Workflow Engineer within the Crop Protection Chemistry sector, focusing on strengthening digital capabilities in agricultural R&D through the CropKey approach. The engineer will work in a fast-paced R&D environment, primarily designing and building systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and React to interface with automated laboratory and greenhouse machinery. Key responsibilities include owning the full software lifecycle—from development and debugging to testing and continuous improvement—and actively contributing to product design specifications. The ideal candidate must possess strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL query development, relational database design, and JSON API development. This is a unique opportunity to apply software engineering skills to solve complex challenges in sustainable agriculture and food security, collaborating closely with scientific teams in a data-driven environment.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Experience
- Solid experience in software development, database design, or server administration
- Several years of hands-on experience in JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience in developing JSON APIs
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub Actions
Languages
Additional
- Fixed-term position for 12 months. Must be comfortable working in high temperatures and elevated humidity when required (greenhouse environment).
