Job Summary

This role involves working as a Chemical Technician specializing in the handling and treatment of small quantities of special and laboratory chemical waste within an interim storage facility in Gütersloh. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing waste materials based on chemical, physical, and hazardous goods criteria, performing qualified sampling, and conducting qualitative chemical analyses using rapid tests. The specialist will also manage waste documentation, sort and repackage chemicals in small containers, and determine appropriate treatment and disposal processes. A key aspect of the job is ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, occupational, and safety regulations, including adherence to ADR regulations for handling hazardous goods. Candidates should have a background in waste management or chemistry, technical understanding, and proficiency with digital systems like MS Office, coupled with a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
