Job Summary

This role involves applying specialized knowledge in patient-oriented diagnostics, focusing on report generation within molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics to contribute to individualized therapy planning. The Scientific Associate will utilize modern technology, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Liquid Biopsy analyses, integrating expertise into routine diagnostics. A key part of the job is the innovative optimization of NGS evaluation pipelines and the development of new analytical procedures to expand the somatic diagnostics portfolio. Candidates should possess a degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field, with experience in molecular diagnostics and proficiency in using specialized laboratory information systems (LIMS) and genetic databases. This position offers the chance to actively shape the future of genetic diagnostics within a high-standard, quality-focused environment in Hannover.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Biology or a comparable natural science field. A doctorate (PhD) is welcome but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in generating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (ideally)
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analytical pipelines for somatic variants (ideally)
