This role involves ensuring the planning, operation, development, and system management of the Data Science platform for a major public transport company in the Ruhr area. The Data Scientist will be responsible for analyzing large, heterogeneous datasets to derive informed business decisions, focusing on developing, training, and validating Machine Learning and AI models (e.g., forecasting, classification, anomaly detection). Key daily tasks include building and maintaining data pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineers, visualizing analysis results for various departments, and working closely with business units to identify data-driven optimization potential and use cases. The ideal candidate must possess a degree in Computer Science or a relevant IT qualification combined with professional experience in programming, strong knowledge of SQL/Oracle databases, Python/Java, and experience in IT Project and Stakeholder Management.
