Job Summary

This role involves the independent installation, configuration, administration, and operational assurance of Public Transport (ÖPNV) specific application systems within a major Ruhr area transport company. Key responsibilities include documenting technical structures, ensuring system stability and data security, testing new hardware/software for compatibility, and driving the further development of specialized IT industry solutions. The System Administrator will also participate in conceiving overarching platform strategies, building IT infrastructure, managing system updates, and leading IT projects from planning through execution while tracking associated costs. Candidates need a degree in Computer Science or a relevant IT technical qualification, excellent knowledge of SQL/Oracle databases, strong understanding of network communication protocols, and proficiency in Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
